No, no you do not want to look sexy. I don't care how single-and-looking you are. I don't care if you work for Donatella Versace. Work parties and The Sexy do not mix. Ever. Save your urge to look sexy for the clubs, or the cocktail-party-slash-night-wedding, or New Year's Eve. For a work party—even a festive, champagne-fizzy holiday party—you want to look stylish, smart, future-forward. But not sexy. At a work party, sexy equals desperate. Leave it alone.

That isn't to say that your ensemble shouldn't whisper, "Look at me!"

We're kinda over the studded belt, which was the accessory of choice last summer, thanks in part to the Sex and the City movie. Nowadays, we're channeling our inner rock diva with studded boots.
